What you get

  • A website built for you

Up to five pages, designed and built by hand around your work, your colours and your own photos, at an address like your-name.uk-cic.com.

  • Checked by a person

Every website, and every later change, is checked automatically and then approved by a member of the UK-CIC.com team before it goes live.

  • A secure contact form

Visitors reach you through a protected form run by UK-CIC.com, so your website itself never collects personal data.

  • A private inbox

Read and manage enquiries in your private inbox. Each new one is also emailed to you, or you can choose one summary a day.

  • Its own privacy page

Each website has a privacy page, prepared from your answers and confirmed by you, explaining how enquiries are handled.

  • Fast, accessible, no tracking

Plain, quick pages that work well on phones and with assistive technology. No adverts and no tracking scripts.

Who can apply

Anyone can apply for a website about their own work, group or idea. Once your website is set up, you can invite other people from your team to help.

You can apply if

  • everything the website says is true
  • you may use every photo, logo and piece of writing you send us
  • you can act for the organisation, if you apply for one

How it works

  1. Apply

Sign in and tell us about your group, your organisation or your idea. A member of our team checks every application.

  2. Complete your brief

Describe what you do and who it is for, choose one of eight visual styles and set your exact colours. Add your logo, photos and any files and ideas that help, such as websites you like. Your answers save as you go, and you submit your brief when you are ready.

  3. We design and build it

The UK-CIC.com studio builds your website by hand from your brief, your pictures and your ideas. If we need anything, we email you, and you can follow progress in your dashboard.

  4. Check and approve it

When your design is ready, we email you. You preview it privately at phone, tablet and desktop sizes, then approve it or ask for changes. You can fix small wording details yourself.

  5. It goes live

After you approve the design, a member of the UK-CIC.com team checks every page. Your website then goes live at your-name.uk-cic.com and we email you. Enquiries arrive in your private inbox.

Common questions

Who can apply?

Community groups, charities, CICs, clubs, small businesses, sole traders and people with an idea can all apply. If you apply for an organisation, you must be able to act for it. A member of our team checks every application.

Is it free?

Yes. The UK-CIC.com studio designs and builds your website at no cost. Hosting, the contact form, the private inbox and enquiry emails are included too. The terms of service set out fair use.

How many pages do I get?

Up to five: Home and Contact, plus up to three of About, What we do, Events, Gallery and Get involved.

Do I need any technical knowledge?

No. You answer questions in plain language, choose from visual options and add your photos, files and ideas. Our studio builds the website, so you never need to write code or set up hosting.

Can I change my website after it is published?

Yes. Send us an update with the changes you want, and our studio prepares a new version. You check and approve it, and it is reviewed again before it replaces the live website.

How long does it take?

It depends on how many submissions we have. You can follow progress in your dashboard, and we email you at each step.

Who owns the words and pictures on my website?

You do. You keep the rights in everything you send us, and you allow Are You Faster CIC to use it to build, host and show your website and to run the service.

What happens to messages from visitors?

They go to your private inbox and are emailed to you as they arrive, from Are You Faster CIC, or in one summary a day if you prefer. Possible spam is held back in the inbox. Messages are deleted automatically after 90 days unless you choose a different period. You can export them before then.

See every published website in the website directory.
